Glacier Trips
- A Photo Story
Glacier photos by Michael Kingston

Aerial view of Trident Glacier and
area our camp is located.

Bush strip on which you are landed at
the
beginning of glacier trek with Mt. Moffitt in the background.

The 1½ mile hike to the glacier from
camp is a very easy hike on this kame terrace.
Caribou, sheep, bear, wolves and marmot can be seen as well as
spectacular scenery.

This beautiful green meadow leads
right down onto the glacier with
majestic Mt. Moffit rising 8500 feet from its base which is only 2
miles away.

Caribou are often seen on the glacier
during the summer
trying to escape the bugs and cooling off.

The glacier offers many opportunities
for interesting and unusual photographs.

Beautiful and unusual rocks cover the
glacier.

And a refreshing drink from a glacial
stream.

This photo shows the beautiful view
of Trident Glacier and Mt. Moffit.
The grass covered lateral moraine provides easy access to the
glacier.

Mt. Hayes/Mt. Moffitt area in fall colors ~ Photos by Steve DuBois

Grizzly bears are commonly seen
throughout summer and fall. These
three are enjoying the abundance of blueberries.

The beauty of Mt. Hayes and
surrounding alpine
areas in their fall colors is unparalleled.

Fall provides fantastic opportunities
for photographing moose
as the move into alpine areas for breeding season.
